Management –
João Boniatti, Bachelor in Geology, graduated in 2004 from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), started his career at Reconsult working with airborne geophysics, processing numerous magnetometry and gamma-ray spectrometry surveys for private companies in the mineral exploration sector. He participated in the knowledge and technology transfer consortium between Brazil and Russia (AGP-LA, USP, LATAM) in airborne geophysics. He was responsible for quality control and the field processing of surveys for public companies (Geological Survey of Brazil – CPRM and Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels – ANP). He was later part of Inco and Vale’s mineral exploration teams (2005 – 2007). He joined the Mineral Exploration group at Nexa Resources (2007 – 2022) as a Consultant Geologist-Geophysicist, supporting greenfield and brownfield exploration programs for base metals in several mineral systems (Ni-S, MVT, VMS, Epithermal, Cu-Porphyry, SEDEX, IOCG, Cu-SHD, Skarn, Au Orogenic, and others) in varied geographies (Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Canada, and Namibia). He worked in the training and qualification of internal geophysical team between 2008 and 2016. He was a sponsor of the Inova Talentos trainee program (Nexa / UnB / CNPq / IEL) between 2017 and 2019, culminating in a Master’s thesis. He has experience contracting, processing, quality control, and interpreting airborne and ground geophysical data (potential, radiometric, electrical, and electromagnetic). He was part of Nexa’s team of Geoscientists, contributing to the search for new technologies, such as the development of a 2D-3D ML-IA platform for generating and prioritizing targets, analysis/inversion of geophysical data, and drone-borne magnetometric/photogrammetric acquisition, to meet the needs of demands from the areas of mineral exploration, engineering, geotechnics, and hydrogeology. He processed and interpreted over 8000 linear km of drone magnetometry data in Brazil and Peru between 2017 and 2022.
